A Case for Small Bridal Bouquets

When I was getting married, the rule of thumb regarding your bouquet was to not carry one larger than your head.  Since then, glam weddings have shown us way-bigger-than-your-head flowers.  You know, like this:

Absolutely stunning, but man that looks heavy.

The style I’m loving lately is a small, manageable bouquet.  A petite grouping of flowers really lets everyone see…well, you.  The ceremony can be nerve-wracking enough, so imagine the relaxed feeling of handing your maid of honor a light and simple bouquet.  Something she could hold with her own or even put down, because it’s that comfortable.

And of course, the ultimate inspo for this type of bouquet is Princess Kate.

Do you ever watch Say Yes to the Dress?  Do you like when the family agrees that “the” dress is the one that she is wearing, not the one wearing her?  Maybe it could be the same with flowers; carry your bouquet, don’t let your bouquet carry you.
