While it’s true that life completely changes after having a child, I was sort of surprised to see one of the changes: the complete removal of trips to the nail salon from my life. It didn’t happen intentionally. In other words, I didn’t have a baby and then swear them off. The relaxing treat just became less of one. I’d rather take a nap or read a novel in my bed if I have some extra time. Also, I do not want to pay for a manicure just to mess it up later that day washing bottles.
Enter: my new obsession with Dior nail polishes. They really dry so quickly and look so shiny! I have this pale pink for my hands and this punchy coral for my toes. I’ve even invested in the topcoat, because it makes that much of a difference. While the price is steep for a single nail polish, I justify the purchase by reminding myself an entire bottle is less than the cost of going to the nail salon once! I’ve even come to enjoy the easy ritual of quietly painting my own nails once a week. What I do miss, however, is the shoulder massage at the salon while my nails were drying.
I still love the quiet, understated nails that Kate Middleton wore for her wedding (rumored to be Essie’s Allure). What nail trends are you loving for this fall, or for weddings?
