In 2011, pre-motherhood, I was happy to stay up all night to watch Kate and William’s royal wedding. The wedding of Harry and Meghan Markle on the other hand…well, I have a three year old, so sleep is pretty precious. I knew what I had to do: DVR the event that is the Superbowl of my industry! So my daughter and I watched it the morning after, with our apple juice and coffee respectively, in my fine china.
GOWN & VEIL
At first glance, I was a bit underwhelmed by Meghan’s Givenchy gown. It was certainly beautiful, and I appreciated the neckline, but it didn’t say I’M MARRYING PRINCE HARRY AND HIS AMAZING RED BEARD TODAY! Then I saw that 16.5 foot veil and everything changed.; it was truly an exquisite look. I adore a cathedral veil, and not just any bride can wear one. The most suitable bride and venue for that headpiece is a princess marrying her prince in a castle. Truly the veil could really shine with a simple, stunning gown. Two thumbs up for Meghan’s look from ol’ Anne at Heather’s Glen.
